Volkswagen: Tayron 2021 model 280TSI DSG YuePro Intelligent Edition
The Volkswagen Tayron is an eye-catching model. The first time I saw it, I was stunned by its impressive appearance and luxurious interior. It's definitely a standout in the mid-size SUV segment in terms of technological configurations, making it an absolutely practical family urban SUV. The tech is impressive, and it has a commanding presence with its dynamic interior and streamlined design, coupled with the self-brand sentiment. The car-making philosophy is advanced, the coupe-style SUV design of the Tayron is very novel, with new fog lights and an updated exterior. Now with the market launch of the new car and its latest technological features, it’s bound to make waves, incorporating elements of modern fashion trends with a touch of retro. A large chrome-plated grille and robust straight lines, under its avant-garde and majestic appearance with meticulous interior, the Tayron will undoubtedly dominate the scene. I particularly appreciate the meticulous craftsmanship and generous configuration of the Wingbo, along with its powerful engine. I love the Tayron’s outstanding configuration; the sense of technology is very attractive. The high-end models are equipped with pedestrian collision avoidance passive safety components with front hinges, collision warning, front radar, and a boron steel body, making the handling extremely pleasurable. This practical urban family SUV, the Tayron 2021 model 280TSI DSG YuePro Intelligent Edition, combines a sporty and robust style with an electronic operating system perfectly blending with driving pleasure.
Exterior
The 2021 model 280TSI DSG YuePro Intelligent Edition doesn’t have significant changes compared to the old model. The front grille uses horizontal chrome-plated strips and blacked-out strips as decoration, keeping it quite traditional. However, in finer details, each strip has six protruding black decorations on top, adding visual diversity to some extent. The new headlight design is quite rectangular and merges with the front grille, looking quite harmonious. All models, except the lowest two tiers, are equipped with front fog lights with turning auxiliary lighting functions, and the fog light area is decorated with chrome.
Side
The body also uses lots of horizontal lines, making it appear more robust. If observed closely, the design concept of the car reveals a short front overhang and long wheelbase. At the rear, the car uses through-type taillights paired with black lamp covers, looking trendy and sporty. It’s reported that the new car offers six color options for consumers: Tayron Red, Turquoise Green, Polar White, Crystal Silver, Lake Baikal Blue, and Flame Orange. The R-Line models feature exclusive badges, fender markers, specialized fog lights, and exclusive wheels for customization.
Interior
The interior of the 2021 model 280TSI DSG YuePro Intelligent Edition is layered and very "Volkswagen". The car comes with a fully digital LCD instrument panel that can display navigation information. The central control screen has two specifications: 8.0 inches and 9.2 inches, equipped with CRS 3.0 intelligent infotainment system and CNS 3.0 intelligent onboard navigation system, both supporting smartphone mapping. The lowest and second-lowest tier models support intelligent connected car features, while the other models additionally support smart navigation, intelligent voice, and smart entertainment, greatly enhancing the technological feel. If consumers log in to the FAW-Volkswagen mall, they can customize the interior, exterior, and configuration of the new car.
Power
Firstly, the 1.4T engine provides abundant power while also performing excellently in terms of fuel efficiency. The self-developed brand engine, in optimizing performance, also boasts impressive fuel economy, paired effectively with the DSG, managing complex road conditions to some extent. It offers a maximum power of 110kW, a maximum horsepower of 150Ps, and peak torque of 250Nm. In terms of the transmission system, it’s equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Price
The bare car price is 136,100 yuan, with necessary expenses of 13,854 yuan (which includes 12,044 yuan for purchase tax, 500 yuan for comprehensive service fee, 360 yuan for vehicle and vessel tax, and 950 yuan for mandatory traffic accident liability insurance), plus commercial insurance of 4,453 yuan (including 706 yuan for third party liability insurance and 3,747 yuan for vehicle damage insurance), making the total full payment 154,407 yuan.
Summary
To call the Tayron easy to drive is an understatement; the 1.4T engine in the 2021 model 280TSI DSG YuePro Intelligent Edition is more than sufficient for the compact Tayron’s body. The power feels quite impressive, sometimes I feel like the Tayron is a small powerhouse, with zero to one hundred acceleration in just over 8 seconds. Although it's not extraordinarily fast, it’s completely adequate for daily driving. When you step on the gas hard, the Tayron still feels quite powerful. Since the Tayron is not large, its handling performance is also excellent - flexible and smooth. This is my impression when driving the Tayron, especially when navigating the city streets, it truly showcases its many advantages, making parking much easier. I really like the Tayron as a "small" SUV. Even though it’s small, the Tayron’s space is surprisingly ample, which is a pleasant surprise to me. It's indeed an advantage of Volkswagen that even though their cars don’t look big, they offer quite a spacious interior.
