Changan Nuo Yu Mi has been driven for 800 kilometers, and I’d like to share some of my feelings with everyone.
[Car Purchase Experience]
Since I saw the spy photos of Changan Nuo Yu Mi in March this year, I felt it was adorably cute and formed a stark contrast with Wuling Hongguang Mini EV. At that time, oil prices were rising, and I suddenly realized that electric cars were very appealing. My wife had gotten her driver's license for two or three years, and our family needed to add a second car. Initially, it was supposed to be launched on April 20th, but the price was not announced. We just waited like this. Due to the rising price of battery materials, all electric cars were getting more expensive, and Wuling Hongguang Mini also had a significant price increase. At that time, there were rumors that the price range for Nuo Yu Mi was 30-50 thousand yuan. I felt it would definitely be better than Wuling. So, we waited until the end of June to see the test drive car at the 4S shop, and it was not bad!!!! After a test drive, it was much better than Wuling and Chery’s two models. We immediately ordered the 520, as the 210 km range seemed cost-effective, and opted for the smart package; all the highlights are in the additional package. We didn't choose any other options, and selected the Mist White color, as it’s said to be delivered quickly. Moreover, white is a classic safe color, and it looks good; it's also convenient for future modifications. We just waited for car delivery. On July 20th, the salesperson notified us that the car had arrived, and it was the first in the locality, so it was easy to be among the first batch to receive it. We bought insurance for over 3,200 yuan and brought it home; no flowers or delivery ceremony, just went home!!!
[Most Unsatisfactory]
The only major drawback is the lack of fast charging; even if it could be an optional feature, that would be fine.
[Range]
In summer, with the air conditioning on, the official range of 210 km actually runs about 180 to 190 km. Turning off the air conditioning, it might go about 200 km, which still manages to reach the official advertised range. Winter has not arrived yet, so it can't be tested.
[Driving Experience]
The driving experience is somewhat like the Suzuki Swift. Nuo Yu Mi uses narrower tires to reduce resistance. At a top speed of 109 km/h (as tested), it’s not very stable and a bit floaty, but it’s understandable for the sake of range. After all, most city trips with commuter cars are under 80 km/h. Overall, the driving experience is much better than Wuling Hongguang Mini EV and Chery Ice Cream.
[Highlight Configuration]
All are in the additional 4,000 yuan package. It includes one-key start, keyless entry, electric door handle, creative key, one-touch courtesy entry to the rear seats, and electrically adjustable mirrors. It would be perfect if it could add electrically folding mirrors too.
