Lincoln MKZ 2020 2.0T Premium Version
When it comes to luxury cars, Chinese people might first think of Mercedes, BMW, and Audi. However, in Japan, the luxury cars of choice are Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti, while in America, it's often Cadillac and Lincoln. Among them, the Lincoln MKZ is undoubtedly a representative model. After all, it is a fully imported luxury B-class sedan starting at 255,800 yuan, with the top model priced at only 369,800 yuan, a niche but premium offering. Today, I chose the Lincoln MKZ 2020 2.0T Premium Version to discuss its pros and cons. The manufacturer's suggested retail price for this Lincoln MKZ 2020 2.0T Premium Version is 225,000 yuan, with a purchase tax of 19,000 yuan, commercial insurance at 7,129 yuan, registration fee of 500 yuan, compulsory insurance of 950 yuan, and vehicle and vessel tax of 480 yuan. The total price is approximately 254,000 yuan.
**Pros**
The 2020 Lincoln MKZ boasts significant highlights in terms of appearance. It continues Lincoln's family design language, with three raised decorative lines on the bumper enhancing the muscle and power of the car, contrasting with the business luxury car image of Lincoln MKZ.
At the front, the grille is very textured, with mesh holes of metallic texture cleverly integrating the brand logo. The sharp-shaped headlights are equipped with LED headlights across all versions, and high-end models feature matrix headlights, which give a striking visual effect when lit. The through-type taillight is a trendy design element, with English badges, a black lower bumper, and twin exhausts echoing each other, making the simple but elegant design turn heads.
The through-type taillight at the rear is another highlight of the MKZ, as it's the most classic family design element of Lincoln, with high recognizability when lit at night. The dual-sided single exhaust outlets are wrapped with metal chrome strips, paying attention to detail.
The interior design reflects understated luxury and quality. The car uses a large area of soft materials and leather wrapping, ensuring a quiet environment while providing a sense of quality. The three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel is wrapped in leather, offering a good touch and convenience with multifunctional buttons. The 10.1-inch LCD dashboard is mainly divided into two areas, with black background and white characters, making it easy to read values.
In terms of power configuration, the 2020 Lincoln MKZ is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, with a maximum horsepower of 196bhp and a peak torque of 386Nm. For suspension, the MKZ uses a front MacPherson independent suspension and rear multi-link independent suspension, a common type in models of the same class, ensuring comfort. In this power class, 2.0T is quite good, providing effortless overtaking. Starting and acceleration are swift in the city and highway, and uphill driving is powerful.
**Cons**
The center console has a large tilt angle, which is not conducive to placing perfumes and other ornaments. The trapezoidal layout of the center console is rather unconventional, and the long-strip-shaped buttons on both sides of the console might not be very convenient for single-hand operations.
The rear space inside the car is a bit small, squeezing three people is definitely tight. If the front seats are adjusted backward, the rear space is indeed not ideal.
An innate issue with American cars is the relatively high fuel consumption, especially in urban areas. Currently, the average fuel consumption is around 11.8.
Summary: Compared to models of the same price range from Mercedes and BMW, this Lincoln car will definitely not lose to any of them, and might even surpass them. However, in my mind, Lincoln, like Audi, is never ostentatious, but no one can underestimate it. Moreover, this car with a variable valve timing system in terms of power is indeed commendable.
