Zeekr X, a popular car on the internet — some find it expensive, others say it's great. Here are my thoughts on it.
[Expensive or not?] This question requires a dialectical approach. Those who find it expensive might have a budget just enough for smaller cars like the Dolphin or AION Y, around the tens of thousands. They feel these cars and the Zeekr X have similar space and configurations but lack the fancy features and power for daily commuting, thus finding the Zeekr X, priced at over 200,000 yuan, not cost-effective. On the other hand, those who see its value may have a sufficient budget but feel that entry-level BBA cars at the same price are too low-end, fearing judgment for pretentiousness. Alternatively, in cities like Shanghai, electric car buyers benefit from green license plates, making this a bargain not to miss. So, who among these groups is wrong? Neither.
[Design] It's undeniable that the Zeekr X has a highly aesthetic design. The front face combines aggressiveness with delicate design, appealing to young consumers. The side features a frameless door with a push-button switch, the latest configurations. The rear feels a bit less refined, looking somewhat petty on the road; it would be cooler if the ZEEKER logo lit up during the day. The interior's refinement is excellent, with almost all touchable areas being soft. Key interior highlights include a movable center console and center screen, complemented by a queen seat for the front passenger, making the rider super comfortable. As the car owner, you can move to the passenger seat to watch a movie while waiting for your child after school or for your girlfriend to finish makeup. Other interior aspects are also delicate, such as the rose gold hooks and the well-designed, though slightly inconvenient, window buttons.
[Space] The overall space is not particularly spacious, not as much as the AION Y, but still sufficient. With my height of 190 cm, the back seat doesn't feel cramped.
[Driving] The Zeekr X is marketed as a sporty car but, apart from its excellent acceleration, the overall vibe leans more towards comfort. The suspension tuning, similar to the Zeekr 001, is soft yet sturdy, with a slight residual shake on wavy roads. Additionally, the car's sound insulation is outstanding; at a cruising speed of 110 km/h, the interior noise is equivalent to other cars at 80 km/h, showcasing its excellent aerodynamic design. The steering feels good, with linear speed and angle gain, making it easy to handle. The top version has front four-piston brake calipers, which makes the initial braking a bit sharp, hard to control, and needs improvement after release.
[Conclusion] Overall, this is a well-equipped small car. Whether in terms of performance, look, feel, or driving quality, it is top-notch for its price range. Let's see if Zeekr can fix the minor bugs on the engineering cars after its release.
