Patrol, having entered China for less than 10 years, if I recall correctly, entered at the end of 2015 and sales began in 2016. The most common version on the market is the Middle East edition (4.0XE SE OPT Platinum 5.6LE Titanium version) and it's considered a tough performer among hardcore off-road vehicles. Used by peacekeeping forces around the world, its reputation abroad is no less than that of its rival, the Land Cruiser. Upon entering the domestic market, it saw the Land Cruiser as its competitor, but unexpectedly, China had many Land Cruiser fans, leading to a market competition with its younger sibling, the Prado 2700! Early buyers of the Patrol indeed faced significant depreciation, with prices once dropping to around 410,000 yuan. This price undoubtedly served as a stimulant for Patrol's sales, practically leaving the Prado 2700 out of the picture. It's hailed as the only 400,000-yuan, Japan-imported vehicle with a V6 engine, full-time 4WD, body-on-frame design, and dual locking differential! Its massive size provides vast space, with a 5.1-meter-long body even surpassing the contemporary favorite, the Land Cruiser, in size. Overall, the vehicle is very easy to drive, unlike the Land Cruiser with its heavy steering wheel. A friend jokingly said that driving the Land Cruiser for a day is like working out. The 4.0 version has good sales, with the power being high among its peers, although the fuel consumption is relatively high at 16-20L in real terms. It is equipped with a 140L dual fuel tank (Middle East version 140L, standard version 100L), allowing for long-range travel. Luckily, it's not picky about fuel, as 92-octane gasoline is sufficient. Compared to other large, hardcore off-road vehicles, it truly is a recommended model; it has not been downgraded in off-road configurations between low and high versions, only in comfort and convenience features, which deserves praise for the manufacturer. It comes with 4 driving modes, low-speed 4WD, and a rear diff lock as standard across the range, equivalent to dual locks. It's incredibly capable off-road. Due to current domestic policies that no longer import large-displacement engines, promoting green travel and emission standards, Patrol prices have risen, and the Prado and Land Cruiser have become what people call "Toyota Madness." With the electric vehicle revolution, in the near future, we might lose the roar of gasoline engines in our lives, and gasoline engines will become a luxury. So while you still can, experience exploring the beautiful landscapes of your country; it will become a lifetime memory! From a cost-performance perspective, Patrol is truly an excellent and qualified off-road vehicle! Reliable, hardcore off-road vehicles for over 400,000 yuan are few and far between! Compared to the overly hyped Prado and Land Cruiser, I recommend Patrol more.
