Starry is definitely the kind of vehicle that you can tell is meant for commercial use just by looking at the wide black panel that stretches from the front bumper to the side skirts. This choice enhances durability, and the triangular design of the front engine compartment reduces blind spots and optimizes interior space. Speaking of reducing blind spots, the driver's side window is crucial, as the downward-sloping frame also reduces the visual blind spot at the front sides.
The cabin layout is simple, with the panels made of hard materials ensuring there are no strange vibrations or noises during driving. The gear shift layout is noticeably raised, making the handling distance quite appropriate. The presence of a central control screen was somewhat surprising to us, primarily used for radio and multimedia playback, but also supporting the insertion of more video files, adding more entertainment value compared to typical commercial vehicles. Especially for this type of operational vehicle, which often experiences long periods of parking and waiting for passengers, being able to listen to music or watch videos is quite nice. As for its space, the multi-row seating is arranged on the right, allowing easy access to the back rows. The key is that the seats are made of soft leather and well-padded, providing a rebound feeling when pressed or sat on, making static comfort quite satisfactory.
[Most Satisfied] The dynamic driving experience was what we were most satisfied with during our testing. After all, it's a 2.2T diesel engine that offers high torque early on, even giving a sense of acceleration with just two occupants, which was unexpected. Additionally, driving the Starry doesn't feel like driving a big bus. Not only is there no slack in the steering wheel, but the wheel handling is also nimble. While the turning radius might be somewhat large, the vehicle remains stable, and the more passengers, the more stable it feels. The control from straight to curve and curve to straight is effective, and apart from some occasional bouncing in the last row, it performs well on paved roads, providing peace of mind.
[Least Satisfied] Perhaps because we tested a new car, there was some new car smell. The vehicle has soft padding for the seats, but other parts feel a bit thin whether you touch or look at them. For a bus mainly used for operation, it's understandable that expectations might not be high in this area.
