Great Wall Ora Good Cat, with its trendy retro design language and pure electric positioning, indeed attracts many city dwellers. Its cute appearance is quite appealing. It mainly serves as an urban commuter car, and on weekends it's suitable for short trips around. As a professional car reviewer, I recently test-drove the Ora Good Cat 2021 model with a 500km long-range Poseidon version. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 143,900 yuan, and in Jiangsu, the bare car price is 143,900 yuan, as a pure electric vehicle. There is currently no purchase tax, the registration fee is 500 yuan, the vehicle usage tax is 300 yuan, the compulsory insurance is 950 yuan, and the commercial insurance is 5,384 yuan, bringing the total cost of buying the car with full payment to 151,034 yuan. Below I will share my specific driving experience with everyone.
Driving Experience: It offers three driving modes in total, and during the drive, it initially performs very actively. When switched to sports mode, you can feel the acceleration power enhance. The energy recovery system provides three levels of adjustment; if you're used to gasoline cars, you can opt for lower-level energy recovery, which hardly feels any different. Also, it comes with an L2+ level autonomous driving assistance system. While on the highway, it can further relieve the driver, allowing the vehicle to drive automatically based on the speed, traffic signs, and real-time road conditions set. For safety, it also provides an intelligent lane-keeping system to avoid various collision risks.
Acceleration: It is equipped with a front electric motor with a total power of 105kW and a peak torque of 210Nm. In terms of acceleration feel, it does not lose to its peers. Before acceleration testing, switching to sports mode offers a great acceleration feeling. Compared to similar gasoline-powered small cars, it provides ample power and decent driving fun. Based on the actual test data, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.36 seconds.
Range: The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's pure electric range is 501km. If daily use mainly involves picking up and dropping off kids, a one-charge-per-week frequency can be maintained. I personally conducted a short-distance self-drive test; before heading out, I fully charged the battery. The starting point was 80km away from the destination, but upon reaching the destination, the remaining range had dropped by 110km. Throughout the journey, the air conditioning was on, with my wife and child on board. Despite a 30km discrepancy, I am fairly satisfied for a pure electric model.
Space: As a small car, it comfortably accommodates a family of three, with dimensions at 4235×1825×1596 mm and a wheelbase of 2650 mm. Considering the wheelbase, it reaches the compact SUV level. Though the body is not large, the space for passengers is ample. As a 1.78m adult, after adjusting the seat, sitting in the front seat doesn’t feel lacking in space, with about a fist's distance for headroom. For daily travel, the trunk capacity is 228L, suitable for short trips, though it can't accommodate large suitcases. For business trips, the rear seats can be folded down to expand the maximum capacity to 858L.
